Scholars of Color- Benedicto Llave
What is Scholars of Color?
It is a platform in which scholars of color are purposefully celebrated. It’s a space where scholars of color are showcased front and center. It is a digital space where we feel empowered and resilient. Let us get to know each other. Let us cheer each other on AND show the world what we have to offer.
Let us now welcome Benedicto Llave to the Scholars of Color space!

Without positions or titles, how would you describe yourself?: I hold healing, self-determination, and wholeness as core values of mine both within and expansive of work. What are you passionate about?: I am passionate about individual and collective healing, especially with hxstorically marginalized communities, as a queer person of Color and child of immigrants. I’m also passionate about taking my 12-1 lunch breaks, drinking water, and sleeping 8+ hours a night. Healing my relationship with rest is important to me.
Why is the representation of scholars of color important to you?: Having space to uplift marginalized voices, directed towards healing feels important to me.
If people are interested in getting connected to you, how can they?: Connect with me on LinkedIn, or over email and we can go from there! www.linkedin.com/in/benedicto-llave or bllave@ucsc.edu.
