What is Scholars of Color?
It is a platform in which scholars of color are purposefully celebrated. It’s a space where scholars of color are showcased front and center. It is a digital space where we feel empowered and resilient. Let us get to know each other. Let us cheer each other on AND show the world what we have to offer.

What do you currently do for work and/or school?: Actor, Writer, Producer, and Program Coordinator
Without positions or titles, how would you describe yourself?: "Artista" (Tagalog for Artist)
What are you passionate about?: I am passionate about deep empathy, justice, and diverse storytelling.
Why is the representation of scholars of color important to you?: Representation of scholars of color is important to me because it is necessary to see the whole scope of the world reflected in our leadership and in our arts. Through our mere existence, we are able to encourage and inspire those of a similar background to reach new heights. Growing up as a Queer Filipinx-American, I did not have many leaders in my life who were BIPOC or Queer, and I often made myself smaller because I did not know that I had the ability to take up space. Today, I stand with other Queer Leaders of Color who want to uplift our community and to provide a platform for those who have never had the chance to be seen or heard. It is with this leadership we are able to grow, achieve, and create new tables to sit at. Scholars of color say, "you CAN sit with us!"
