What is Scholars of Color?
It is a platform in which scholars of color are purposefully celebrated. It’s a space where scholars of color are showcased front and center. It is a digital space where we feel empowered and resilient. Let us get to know each other. Let us cheer each other on AND show the world what we have to offer.

What do you currently do for work and/or school?: College Counselor
Without positions or titles, how would you describe yourself?: I am optimistic, caring, and giving.
What are you passionate about?: I am passionate about educational equity and ensuring all scholars and communities have access to higher education should that be the path they choose to take.
Why is the representation of scholars of color important to you?: It is important to have scholars of color highlighted as often we lack representation, or when we have it is often stereotypical depictions. Having scholars of color help define what success truly looks like is integral to ensure future generations know that the future is made up of folks of color. Knowing that someone out there shares a similar story as you can impact the way you approach your goals.

Anything else you would like us to know?: As a queer, first-generation Latinx scholar, I value folks sharing their stories with me and with each other. It is from understanding one another's struggles that we can grow together. Place your story at the forefront of the work that you do, and share it with others. Don't let others write your story for you, own your story.
