What's your current occupation? (i.e. Student, Scientist, Coach, In transition, etc.): ELA Middle School Teacher.
Without positions or titles, how would you describe yourself?: Outgoing, I am very friendly, and high energy.
What are you passionate about?: I am passionate about teaching. I love what I do. I want to help my students achieve their dreams. Teaching is often seem as an underrated career, but I chose it because I want to make a difference in my student’s lives.
What does the representation of Scholars of Color mean to you?: The representation of scholars of color means being a voice for those who don’t speak up. Being a teacher from a low income community has taught me that there is so much potential, but so little opportunities for students from communities where I come from. I want to be an inspiration and show my kids that anything it’s possible. If they really want it, then they can have it. I want to do so many things and I am working towards the, that’s what I want my kids to see, that no matter how hard or how long it takes, if you work hard you can reach all of your dreams.
If people are interested in getting connected to you, how can they?: My IG account @teacherulloa or my personal email 1234cullos@gmail.com
Anything else you would like us to know?: I want everyone to know that dreams do come true, and I want everyone to see that if I can do it, they can do it too.
Thank you Carlos for sharing space with us!
