What is Scholars of Color?
It is a platform in which scholars of color are purposefully celebrated. It’s a space where scholars of color are showcased front and center. It is a digital space where we feel empowered and resilient. Let us get to know each other. Let us cheer each other on AND show the world what we have to offer.

What's your current occupation? (i.e. Student, Scientist, Coach, In transition, etc.): HR Recruitment Manager
Without positions or titles, how would you describe yourself?: I’m passionate about interpersonal relationships, uplifting the first generation community & representing my cultural history with everything I do & everywhere I go.
What are you passionate about?: I tend to be involved with projects and concepts about the LGBTQ+ community, POC and mental health. Many of these are intersectional which only highlights the needs and importance of the work we provide.
What does the representation of Scholars of Color mean to you?: It means that as someone who has experienced the otherness of being driven into isolation for thinking that we’re different, we can still find community in others especially those who we might think have zero similarities to us. I wish I had someone to guide me & someone to go to growing up when I made decisions that affected me long term & still do now.

Anything else you would like us to know?: I truly admire spaces where we can feel welcomed and safe, especially in today’s society. I find it incredibly valuable to not only aid each other through words but by encouraging therapy, self-care, healing and empowerment sessions, etc., practices that we can carry on to future generations while still demonstrating to our siblings & parents that we appreciate their efforts.
