It is a platform in which scholars of color are purposefully celebrated. It’s a space where scholars of color are showcased front and center. It is a digital space where we feel empowered and resilient. Let us get to know each other. Let us cheer each other on AND show the world what we have to offer.

What do you currently do for work and/or school?: 3L at Yale Law School
Without positions or titles, how would you describe yourself?: I’m quirky, nerdy, and I enjoy adventures!
What are you passionate about?: Having a wholesome lifestyle. I love to work, experience cultures, and cook and exercise to maintain my health.
Why is the representation of scholars of color important to you?: I often think of a world in which every institution that impacts peoples’ daily lives – such as government, corporate boards, and medicine – was controlled by people of color. We’re given the privilege and responsibility to institute change within these institutions by telling our story. Each of us can make a unique contribution regardless of our personal goals – we may end up working for the common good, or focus on improving our own individual or family wealth and self-sufficiency. Both are worthy goals. For us to truly shape the future of our collective people, we have to exist in these spaces as our full selves. We have to lead and bring our cultural values with us. As we build power, we collectively inform our common interests across sectors and reshape people’s perspectives and stereotypes. This group is important because we only grow stronger in our ability to create change as we link our unique pathways together.

Anything else you would like us to know?: I strongly believe that to support others, you have to support yourself. So, don’t be afraid of being selfish at times! Each step of your journey doesn’t have to align with all of your values or goals. We have complex needs and dreams that will eventually come to fruition, piece by piece. We can mutually support each other and find our own version of happiness. Love and good vibes only.
