What is Scholars of Color?
It is a platform in which scholars of color are purposefully celebrated. It’s a space where scholars of color are showcased front and center. It is a digital space where we feel empowered and resilient. Let us get to know each other. Let us cheer each other on AND show the world what we have to offer.

Name: Georgina Rossel
Gender Pronouns: She/Ella
What do you currently do for work and/or school?: I am currently in the Masters of Career Counseling Program and work as a Credential Analyst as Sacramento State.
Without positions or titles, how would you describe yourself?: Outgoing and caring! I have always been that person with the friendly face and super outgoing. I try my best to learn from others and myself. I will also say I am a great dancer!
What are you passionate about?: I am passionate about helping and guiding those to learn about their values and find a career or major that they like though exploration and resources. I am also passionate to guide Central American students to find their voice and community. Most importantly, I am passionate about learning who we are and how live the world based on our experiences.
Why is the representation of scholars of color important to you?: Having representation of scholars of color in the world is very important to me because without seeing our queens and kings on the spotlight is such motivational. We need to have someone to look up to and even have as mentors.

Anything else you would like us to know?: My journey as a scholar has been challenging and eventful as many as scholars of colors. But like them, I kept pushing forward. At times it hard to see all the accomplishments but I push for us to see how much we have come and eve thing we have done. Growing and healing is such an important part of my life too. True acceptance and self reflection has been one of my biggest accomplishments.
