What is Scholars of Color?

It is a platform in which scholars of color are purposefully celebrated. It’s a space where scholars of color are showcased front and center. It is a digital space where we feel empowered and resilient. Let us get to know each other. Let us cheer each other on AND show the world what we have to offer.

What do you currently do for work and/or school?: Psychologist

Without positions or titles, how would you describe yourself?: Passionate, career-driven individual. I especially enjoy working with both children and adults with special needs/autism and or intellectual disabilities.

What are you passionate about?: Passionate about helping those that can not help themselves. Teaching mindfulness, meditation as an additional tool or resource to help in decreasing the use of meditation for anxiety, depression, and aggression in those diagnosed with intellectual disabilities and autism

Why is the representation of scholars of color important to you?: It will provide an outlet for people to recognize that we are a latin culture and we do have the ability to succeed Just like everyone else.

Anything else you would like us to know?: I’m Puerto Rican with a PhD in Psychology and looking to make a positive social change.
