What is Scholars of Color?
It is a platform in which scholars of color are purposefully celebrated. It’s a space where scholars of color are showcased front and center. It is a digital space where we feel empowered and resilient. Let us get to know each other. Let us cheer each other on AND show the world what we have to offer.

What's your current occupation? (i.e. Student, Scientist, Coach, In transition, etc.): College & Career Advisor
Without positions or titles, how would you describe yourself?: I’m a first-gen Indilatina/Indigilatina social justice and mental health warrior.
What are you passionate about?: I’m passionate about addressing social justice issues at the root cause and highlighting the interconnectedness of our communities and the challenges we face. Currently, I work as a college and career advisor for high school students in rural Oregon. Cultivating youth leaders and echandoles porras as they reach their goals. I also serve as a Policy Leadership Council member for the Oregon Food Bank, where I use my lived experience with food insecurity to advocate for my comunidad.
What does the representation of Scholars of Color mean to you?: As someone who grew up as the only POC student in class throughout most of my public education, who didn’t see people like me as school teachers and administrators until university, I KNOW it’s important for us POC to be seen in these systems, which were not made for us. We’re out here making sure that younger POC generations know the value that they bring when they show up as their authentic selves.
