Without positions or titles, how would you describe yourself?: As a small town immigrant who grew up thinking he was going to be a nobody but has worked hard to break barriers and can proudly say now identifies as being someone who strives to convey what it is like to be an immigrant, live as an immigrant, and then be able to be the voice of and for the immigrant community.

What are you passionate about?: My passion for representing the immigrant and latinx community is the fuel that ignites my dedication to become involved. I am deeply interested in lending my energy to areas that need the appropriate representation and in taking on leadership and advocacy positions. I believe that support and continuous improvement around education and youth are critical components. I continuously look for chances to make a difference in fundamentally positive ways throughout my communities.

What does the representation of Scholars of Color mean to you?: To begin with, being a person of color is an honor; now being a scholar of color means so much more! As someone who grew up underprivileged in many ways, being a scholar or color means we can serve as role models for generations to come. I am a proud scholar of color who is not only brown but also an immigrant that will soon be sworn in and become an elected official in Yolo County. I am a great example for my communities to show that if I could do it you can too!
