What is Scholars of Color?
It is a platform in which scholars of color are purposefully celebrated. It’s a space where scholars of color are showcased front and center. It is a digital space where we feel empowered and resilient. Let us get to know each other. Let us cheer each other on AND show the world what we have to offer.

What's your current occupation? (i.e. Student, Scientist, Coach, In transition, etc.): Marketing Managerl
Without positions or titles, how would you describe yourself?: As a first generation, Mexican born Latina
What are you passionate about?: Elevating Latinx voices and issues that affect our comunidad. I’m also bet passionate about my personal healing journey and helping others realize their own power.
What does the representation of Scholars of Color mean to you?: It’s incredibly important, it means that those who come after us will feel empowered by seeing people who look like them accomplish their goals/dreams. Representation matters!

Anything else you would like us to know?: I’m the youngest of 3 and the first to graduate from college in my family. I’m also the the only one in both my immediate and extended family to receive a Masters degree. Neither of my parents had more than an elementary school education and barely spoke English. Halfway through grad school, I lost my mom to cancer and had to withdraw from my classes that semester and was still able to finish with honors. When I graduated with my MBA, I was 6 days postpartum and delivered the student commencement speech. It was one of the most difficult and amazing moment's in my life, I dedicated my degree to my mom. It was her immense hard work and sacrifice that got me to that moment.
