It is a platform in which scholars of color are purposefully celebrated. It’s a space where scholars of color are showcased front and center. It is a digital space where we feel empowered and resilient. Let us get to know each other. Let us cheer each other on AND show the world what we have to offer.

What do you currently do for work and/or school?: I’m the Assistant Director for Events & Traditions at Seattle University
Without positions or titles, how would you describe yourself?: Approachable. Caring. Funny. Intentional. Thoughtful. Humorous.
What are you passionate about?: Mentorship, Equity, Access, Leadership & Community Development, Social Justice, and Holistic Educational Experiences.
Why is the representation of scholars of color important to you?: As a queer, first-generation student, born into a low-SES, Afro-Latinx household in Austin, Texas, I quickly had to understand how to navigate the intersections of my personal identities and the challenges that came along with them. I am fortunate to have had folxs in my life who believed in my potential and could role model what it meant to be a strong and resilient leader in my community. As the first male on either side of my family to obtain a Masters degree, it's important to me that I remain humble but also claim my excellence in the spaces that I have the privilege to do so. The journey to this point wasn't easy but and the hard work was worth it and I hope to continue learning from my colleagues and role modeling to my students that they CAN achieve anything they put their minds to.

Anything else you would like us to know?: I was born and raised in Texas, completed my undergraduate studies in the Midwest, and have spent the last 3 years in the Pacific Northwest. I love to travel, connecting with others, cooking, and spending time with my fiance. Always happy to chat so do not hesitate to reach out and am proud to be a part of this powerful network of scholars and professionals.
