What is Scholars of Color?

It is a platform in which scholars of color are purposefully celebrated. It’s a space where scholars of color are showcased front and center. It is a digital space where we feel empowered and resilient. Let us get to know each other. Let us cheer each other on AND show the world what we have to offer.

Without positions or titles, how would you describe yourself?: Actor, teacher, activist.

What are you passionate about?: Social justice and appropriate media representation for Latinos. I believe in telling stories that are representative of our community and depict us in a positive light.

What does the representation of Scholars of Color mean to you?: It means to showcase our community in a positive way. Often it seems that our efforts in business, education, media, or whatever it may be are sometimes overlooked. To give ourselves a platform to highlight our endeavors and our support of one another is necessary to ensure that our community thrives.
