It is a platform in which scholars of color are purposefully celebrated. It’s a space where scholars of color are showcased front and center. It is a digital space where we feel empowered and resilient. Let us get to know each other. Let us cheer each other on AND show the world what we have to offer.

What's your current occupation? (i.e. Student, Scientist, Coach, In transition, etc.): Recruitment & Outreach Specialist for HEP/CAMP at Sacramento State & Stock Market Day Trader
Without positions or titles, how would you describe yourself?: I am an adventurous spirit who is always seeking to learn new ways to live a fulfilling and purposeful life. I am someone who lives outside my comfort zone daily with the goal of expressing my highest potential. I am someone who inspires others and leads by example.
What are you passionate about?: I am passionate about living a life that makes me excited to wake up every single day and be able to inspire and help others to do the same with their lives along the process. Of equal magnitude, I am passionate about traveling the world and discovering everything our beautiful planet holds including its natural biodiversity, landmarks and diverse human cultures and history.
What does the representation of Scholars of Color mean to you?: At some point in my life, I became very aware that as a Latino in the United States I was going to be a minority in many spaces including higher education, various professional settings, and industries. Instead of seeing this as a disadvantage, I have used it for motivation to demonstrate what a son or daughter of immigrant parents can do with the tools and opportunities presented to them. Finding a role model who not only looks like me but who I identify myself with, has also been a struggle. This has led to my outlook that the best approach to life is to become what you want to see more of in this world through leading by example.
