It is a platform in which scholars of color are purposefully celebrated. It’s a space where scholars of color are showcased front and center. It is a digital space where we feel empowered and resilient. Let us get to know each other. Let us cheer each other on AND show the world what we have to offer.

Name: Sara Blair-Medeiros

Gender Pronouns: She/They

What do you currently do for work and/or school?: Currently I serve as the Associate Director for the Women’s Resources and Research Center. I am also the founder and owner of Rainbow Weddings & Events by Sara.

Without positions or titles, how would you describe yourself?: I would define myself as someone who is a perpetual learner and who is committed to being my most authentic self in every space I get the opportunity to engage in. I would also define myself as a water sign with fire sign essence; so I am definitely an empath and a protector.

What are you passionate about?: I am passionate about building connections and supporting people in bringing their dreams to life. I find it really fulfilling to witness magical moments for both the scholars I engage with and the clients I plan weddings and events for. Each connection building moment is an opportunity to create a brave and authentic space where folks can come together and be empowered. I try to bring as much #blackgirlmagic to everything that I do.

Why is the representation of scholars of color important to you?: I think often that people forget that we are more than just our struggles; we are our accomplishments, our joy, our love, our care for one another, our thriving strength, our determination, our healing...I could go on forever. We are much more than what is seen, we are abundance with resilience flowing through our veins. We are magical!
