It is a platform in which scholars of color are purposefully celebrated. It’s a space where scholars of color are showcased front and center. It is a digital space where we feel empowered and resilient. Let us get to know each other. Let us cheer each other on AND show the world what we have to offer.

What's your current occupation? (i.e. Student, Scientist, Coach, In transition, etc.): Internal Communications Manager
Without positions or titles, how would you describe yourself?: Passionate, Community-oriented, and I care deeply for others
What are you passionate about?: Public speaking is my passion. I love the power it has to not only make individuals feel confident and heard, but also in the power it has to bring an entire community together. My vision for the world is that everyone loves public speaking as much as I do only because I know the opportunities it can open for us when we decide to pursue it.
What does the representation of Scholars of Color mean to you?: It means creating a space where we feel safe and heard to better show up for ourselves and our communities. Part of why public speaking can be so intimidating is because we may not be used to seeing and hearing our voices on stage. When there’s no one that looks or sounds like us, sharing their expertise, knowledge, or story, we can’t imagine that we might one day be able to take up that same space. Having Scholars of Color shine the light on all of our amazing-ness is one giant step towards helping create a ‘stage’ where all of our uniqueness is represented and celebrated.
