What is Scholars of Color?

It is a platform in which scholars of color are purposefully celebrated. It’s a space where scholars of color are showcased front and center. It is a digital space where we feel empowered and resilient. Let us get to know each other. Let us cheer each other on AND show the world what we have to offer.

What's your current occupation? (i.e. Student, Scientist, Coach, In transition, etc.): i'm a full time artist / art program leader for youth

Without positions or titles, how would you describe yourself?: I'd describe myself as optimistic, loving , and Hardworking. Those three word jumped out at me first!

What are you passionate about?: I'm passionate about making art that keeps people in my community feeling represented, and I'm also super passionate about advocating for artists in any way shape or form.

What does the representation of Scholars of Color mean to you?: It means the world to me , I want people like myself to always feel represented and specifically in ways that are respectful and honoring our livelihood.

Anything else you would like us to know?: I just want you to know that we are all doing our best in this crazy world, and I'm proud of us! Take breaks when necessary and remember to always be gentle with yourself.
