Without positions or titles, how would you describe yourself?: I am 100% Robert Robles! What this means is I am unapologetically myself in every space I enter, because who I am is more than enough! So what does authentic Robert Robles look like? Well, it's showing up as a chingon, an agent of change, and an advocate for men of color and first-generation voices! I'm a positive, energetic person who likes to spread good vibes wherever I go. In addition to this, I am compassionate, and I lead with love in all that I do! When around me, be prepared to get hyped up and have a good time! Additionally, I will make you believe in yourself like no one else. Why? Because you matter!

What are you passionate about?: I'm driven by a desire to promote positive transformation in people's lives. This involves welcoming diverse perspectives and promoting dialogue. Moreover, I am deeply committed to amplifying and supporting the contributions of people of color in all fields. As a first-generation Latino, my voice matters because I come with so much knowledge and experience that can create a positive impact. I've come to tell other people that their voices and mine are important and to help them realize that the world needs to hear us because we have so much to offer.

What does the representation of Scholars of Color mean to you?: When you're a first-generation man of color like me, it's very meaningful to have role models who look like you and your community succeeding in what you love! I had the great fortune to grow up in Long Beach, California, among a population that represented every imaginable culture. Having the opportunity to interact with other Scholars of Color who look like me and individuals from all walks of life in the city where I grew up, reinforced my belief that my voice and perspective are important. Representation matters! I find it inspiring when I see people who look like me and my family succeeding and making a difference in the world. Additionally, I would like to give a special shout-out to my mentors/ femtors; Scholars of Color, who have shown me the importance of believing in myself and stepping into my greatness. You are family! Thank you!
